A group of 14 children from Walkley Primary School took to the stage at The Octagon Theatre to perform at the Archers annual dance event. This year the theme was ‘Dance Through the Decades' which Walkley interpreted with bright neon outfits and a selection of music from the
1960's right through to Lady Gaga!
Miss Ainsworth said; “They showed great confidence. The stage was huge and there were video cameras and hundreds of people watching!”
Miss Collister adds; “They smiled throughout the whole dance and the audience loved them! We got the biggest applause of the night!”
And it was certainly well-deserved. The children were so committed to getting the dance perfect that they practiced up to four times a week.
Olivia Ridley in Y3 said; “We worked really hard and it was quite scary to perform in front of all those people. It was worth it in the end because we felt so proud of ourselves!” Roll on next years dance event. I wonder what the theme will be…… |
