Let's Get Cooking!

The Let's Get Cooking Club runs on Tuesday afternoons from 3.15pm. Mrs Garton and Mrs Bracken help the children to produce some wonderful recipes, and create some exciting dishes which, sometimes, the teachers get to enjoy!


Our first club meeting was held on 26.06.08. The first members were Chloe, Cerys, Bradley, Rebecca, Kyle and Joe. We made a variety of scones which we then froze to use the following week when we held a 'Strawberry Tea Party' in aid of 'Breast Cancer Care' during a staff meeting.

 

We served the scones with fresh cream, strawberry jam, fresh strawberries and fresh raspberries, which the staff enjoyed thoroughly. They were very impressed by our cooking skills and asked us lots of questions about Lets Get Cooking.

 

We have raised a total of £41.45 for Breast Cancer Care and are looking forward to our next meeting.

 
Owls Captain lends support to Walkley 'Cookathon'
We were very pleased to welcome Sheffield Wednesday captain Richard Wood to our school last week. He was lending his support to our Let's Get Cooking Club's attempt to win £1000 as part of the national 'Cookathon' competition. As seen in the Sheffield Telegraph 20 March 2009
